I have moments of inspiration about blogging about some topic that is weighing on my mind and I do enjoy reading about in depth blogs. However I mostly enjoy reading the updates of friends. So I'll update about us. :)
Not a whole lot is new here. I was able to go to Chicago this past Sunday with my parents and see my sister and brother in law. It was a fun road trip with them. I kinda felt like a kid again riding in the backseat. We wondered around Chicago, checked out the new place they'll call home in a approx. a month and ate some yummy subs from a place called Potbellys. They toast the subs just right, it was a cool and windy day. perfect day for a warm sandwich.
I'm getting a new shift at work. About a year ago, my hours were cut by 10% to accomdate a decrease in budget and also by not having to lay any fellow techs off. It worked out quite well, I get a day off every other week. Week 1 I work 5 days, week 2 I work 4 days. Since I started at the hospital I've commonly work 9a-5:30p, now I'll be working 10a-6:30p most days. Which is fine, I work those hours about 2 days a week now. It seems on those days I'm so hurried and hard pressed to get things done after work and get ready for the next day. I know it won't be too big of a deal, I just need to get in the practice of getting up earlier and getting things done before work, grocery shopping-stores aren't busy @ 8:30am!:), appts and little things done around the house.
Scott and I went to Griffins game last night. We normally go with another one of our friends, a single guy and its fun to go as a group. But I have to admit it was nice just going the 2 of us. It was kinda like a date night! :) The game was a good game (Griffins won!) and lots of fights. I like hockey for the fights. Unfortunately the game when too late and we couldn't make our usual stop to Culvers for post hockey ice cream! It was also Metro Health night there too and I was able to see some of my co-workers outside of work.
Allergy season is here I believe. About a week ago I started with a runny nose, itchy eyes, nose and sore throat and sneezing. Took as many allergy drugs as I could plus some and now I have a sinus infection. I won't go into all the yummy details, overall i feel fine, I'm just congested. So off to the Dr. I went, I honestly felt stupid for going in for something so simple I could self diagnosis. The PA I saw, looked up my nose and told told me my nasal turbinates were the most inflamed that she has ever seen me before. I have a history of sinus infections, usually I have 2-3 per winter. Thankfully this is my first one all year! :) :) My sinus are finally being nice to me but I'm ready for the congestion to go away!!
Okay from Chicago, to work, to Griffins game to sinuses. I think I've covered it all. Blog on people.
One more thing. Happy Birthday to my Dad! He is one of the most awesome people i know and I don't think I'll ever be able to tell him how much he means to me and all that he has taught me. Love ya Pops and Thanks.
