Almost Christmas

I loved the snow coming down this mornng and when I was on my way to TSC it almost looked like someone had turned a snow globe upside down. I love it when that happens here in Michigan. It makes me happy I live here. I love the way it looks outside with having a fresh blanket of new snow, its all white and fresh. Reminds me of a verse from Psalms where our sins will be made whiter than snow. And the person who did that, we get to celebrate his birthday next week. Yay! :)

I'm working Christmas Eve. When I say that most people say I'm sorry or that sucks. Well yeah maybe it does, but honestly I'd rather work overnight than during the day on the holiday. While people are sleeping I'll be taking one xray at a time. :) I don't know why but I'm actually looking forward to working that night. Its the most holy of nights. Hmm... maybe stay tuned. :) It comes with the ground of working in a hospital. Oh well.

I had my first family Christmas party last night with my mom's side of the family. The Grandma who broke her arm. She's doing well and I love the way my Grandpa looks after here and is so protective of her. :) We normally exchange presents but didn't this year and instead put the money towards a donation to the Komen foundation. Both my aunt and grandma have been treated and defeated breast ca. And my dad too, well not breast ca but another cancer. I look and see a family filled with fighters and survivors. When we hear the word cancer it sucks but we pull together and find out how we can help and even if its just praying and sending a word of encouragement. We're family for all the highs and lows.

I love to read and my husband will always tease me mercilessly for being such a book worm. Its a good thing we have libraries or I'd have our whole house full of books. :) Not a bad thing. One of my favorite thing is pull out all of my Christmas books and read while the radior or Ipod plays some seasonal tunage. :) I love Christmas music as I think i've said earlier. I like the traditional to the popular to the funny. Silent Night my favorite traditional and I absolutely love I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. Its my favorite. I actually did get a hippo for Christmas last year and I'm waiting to see if someone will get me another one this year. I'm kinda hopeful.

Off to find some hot chocolate. Seems slightly seasonal. :)
